Social Enterprise Knowledge Exchange Workshop
What?
Social Enterprise Knowledge Exchange Workshop will be organized bi-weekly to facilitate the learning of students in current Social Enterprises. Students will be equipped with social entrepreneurial mindsets and tools to critically evaluate performances of Social Enterprise.
How?
Students in groups will research on Social Enterprises related to the particular problems (Poverty, Education, Sustainability) being addressed in the Social Design Challenges, doing a mini-report and presentation to share their knowledge gained with other team.
Why?
- Students will gain inspiration to stimulate better solution
- Students will improve existing Social Enterprises for social impact
- Students will conduct self-reflection on Social Enterprises
- Students will learn the strategies, niche success factors of various Social Enterprises

Social Enterprise Summit 2011
What?
Social Enterprise Summit is the most distinguished Social Enterprise event in Hong Kong. The theme in 2011 is ‘Driving Social Change through Social Business and Impact Investing’.
How?
Key activities of the Summit will include a two-day International Symposium, specially designed workshops for business sectors and young people, and an SE Fair mainly organized by the Government. At the Symposium, keynote speakers from U.S., U.K., Singapore and New Zealand will address on subjects of how Social Enterprises relate to social change.
Why?
- Raise students’ awareness on and promote social entrepreneurship in HKU
- Students will have networking opportunity to connect with global and local leaders and entrepreneurs in Social Enterprise field
- Students will gain inspiration about the successful events of leading Social Enterprises and inform them about the latest trend
